The Islamic Dinar Museum is one of the museums in the Makkah Region and is considered the first museum in Makkah dedicated to Islamic coins. It was founded by Mohammed bin Omar Hussein Nattou.
The museum consists of four main halls. The first is the Coins and Currency Hall, which includes a wide collection of gold, silver, and copper coins, in addition to all official currency issues of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The second is the Manuscripts and Weapons Hall, featuring manuscripts in Hadith, تفسير (Tafsir), Arabic language, along with historical documents.
The third hall is the Historical Antiquities Hall, which contains inscribed stones and pottery artifacts. The fourth is the Popular Heritage Hall, showcasing traditional household items, tools, chairs used in old Makkah, as well as vintage audio devices, radios, telephones, and old clocks.
Guests arrive at the museum and are welcomed with the venue’s signature drink, followed by a brief introduction from the guide about the site and the experience ahead.
A short orientation with the guide explaining the museum’s concept and giving an overview of what visitors will explore.
Time allocated for relaxation, where children can enjoy available activities, while guests may have lunch, sit in designated areas, or enjoy the surrounding atmosphere.
A final recap with the guide or interpreter, sharing additional insights about the museum and its collection, followed by heading to transportation for departure.
